Beyond the fan moment, the mayor and the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, took a lap around the circuit in the Safety Car for about a minute. 'I almost felt dizzy. The driver pushed a little… in some corners, he went from 180 to 80 kilometres per hour, and it was complicated,' Almeida told Dazn.
During the qualifying day, both spent a few minutes with Carlos Sainz and Carlos Sainz Jr., two of the Spanish stars of this first edition of the Grand Prix in the capital.
Patrick Dempsey, in addition to his acting career, is a endurance racer and has competed in events like Le Mans and Daytona. A few weeks ago, he confirmed his attendance at the event and stated that he was expecting 'the unexpected because it's a new circuit'.
'I'm really looking forward to it. I think the Spanish GP is going to be great. We're back in action, and it's the first time we've been in Madrid in a long time.'
