On Thursday, 29 October, the 24-hour strike by Renfe train drivers will affect Cercanías. Residents of Pozuelo de Alarcón have intercity buses and Light Metro to reach the capital.

Residents of Pozuelo de Alarcón will need to organise their travel on Thursday, 29 October, when the Spanish Union of Train Drivers and Railway Assistants (SEMAF) has called a 24-hour strike affecting Cercanías and Medium Distance trains. According to the media outlet amp.epe.es, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has set minimum services of 75% for the day.

Trains will operate with these minimum services during the time slots of 6:00 to 9:00, 13:30 to 15:30, and 18:30 to 20:30. Outside these hours, the train service will be more limited, so it is advisable to plan alternatives.

From Pozuelo, there are several intercity bus lines that reach the Moncloa interchange. The 656 line runs every 7 minutes during morning peak hours and every 10 minutes for the rest of the day. Other options include the 656A (to the La Cabaña urbanisation), 657 (Monteclaro), 657A (San Juan de la Cruz), 658 and 658A (Prado de Somosaguas, Ciudad de la Imagen, and La Finca), 659 (Universidad Francisco de Vitoria and El Pinar del Plantío), and 865 (Montegancedo campus).

The choice of line will depend on the area of Pozuelo from which the journey begins and the destination in Madrid.

From Moncloa, travellers can take the Metro on lines 3 and 6 or continue on urban buses. There are also intercity lines connecting the municipality with Aluche, including 561, 561A, 561B, 562, 563, and 564, with different routes, so it is necessary to check which stops at the nearest stop.

The other alternative is the Light Metro ML2 or ML3, which connects Colonia Jardín with Aravaca and Boadilla del Monte respectively. From Colonia Jardín, passengers can transfer to the Metro line 10. Before heading out, it is advisable to check schedules, stops, and any possible changes in service.
