Trains on line 6 will not run between Lucero and Cuatro Caminos on the weekends of October 17, 18, 24, and 25. The Community of Madrid will activate free SE6 buses as an alternative.

According to 20minutos, Metro de Madrid will partially cut line 6 on the weekends of October 17, 18, 24, and 25, although the last cut may change depending on the progress of tests during the first weekend. Trains will not run on the section between Lucero and Cuatro Caminos along the west arc, the same section that has been cut on other weekends.

The company explains that the cuts are necessary to test the operation of the line before it becomes automated, with driverless trains. According to Metro de Madrid, this is a necessary phase of the technological transformation of the Circular that will allow for controlled conditions to check how its elements integrate:

This is an essential phase within the technological transformation of the Circular

The affected stations are Lucero, Alto de Extremadura, Príncipe Pío, Argüelles, Moncloa, Ciudad Universitaria, Vicente Aleixandre, Guzmán el Bueno, and Cuatro Caminos. Although the section is cut, the stations will remain open for passengers to use other lines.

The Community of Madrid will activate a special service of free buses, the SE6, with frequencies of between 3 and 5 minutes between the terminals of Cuatro Caminos and Laguna. The first service departs at 6:05, with two intermediate departures from Moncloa and Príncipe Pío and from Príncipe Pío and Vicente Aleixandre. The last buses on Saturday leave at 02:10 from Cuatro Caminos and at 01:53 from Laguna, and on Sunday at 23:30 from both terminals.
