The Community of Madrid will extend the Light Metro of Boadilla del Monte to Valenoso. The route will start from the current station of Puerta de Boadilla, the last stop on the ML3 line, and will add 1.5 kilometres of double track, two surface stops and a terminal, according to soloboadilla.es.
The project has an estimated budget of 25 million euros for its construction. The ML3 line currently connects Puerta de Boadilla with Colonia Jardín, from where passengers can transfer to line 10 of the Metro to continue to other points in Madrid.
The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, will present the proposal on September 10 during the State of the Region Debate, as part of a public transport expansion package.
The extension is aimed at a growing residential area in Boadilla del Monte, with significant residential development and projects yet to be developed. Before the works can commence, it will be necessary to modify the conditions of the concession contract to incorporate the new route and the increase in service, a process expected to take one year.
The information released does not specify the location of the stops or a date for the start of operations.
The plan also includes other extensions: line 1 to Las Tablas, line 10 from Puerta del Sur to Móstoles, and line 11 from La Fortuna to Poza del Agua, in Leganés.
