Shakira kicked off her residency of 12 concerts this Friday at the Iberdrola Music venue in Villaverde, the largest organised so far in Europe. The first event gathered 50,000 attendees and opens a schedule that will extend until October 11, with more than 600,000 spectators expected in total, according to data released by the organisation and reported by telemadrid.es.
The show started shortly after 20:30 hours, when the venue went dark and the artist appeared on stage in a metallic pink outfit, accompanied by giant LED screens and glowing wristbands distributed among the audience. For approximately two hours, she performed nearly thirty songs and played the guitar, drums, and harmonica.

The repertoire spanned over two decades of her career with hits like Te felicito, Copa Vacía, La Bicicleta, La Tortura, Acróstico (with projected images of her children), Estoy Aquí, Hips Don't Lie, Waka Waka, and a Te dejo Madrid sung along by the crowd. The finale came with BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.
Beyond the concerts, the 15 hectares of the venue host Macondo Park, a space with eight themed pavilions offering 12 hours of daily activities under the umbrella of the Es Latina experience. Highlights include a library featuring 24 female writers, a fashion workshop with brands like Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Lola Casademunt, a food market overseen by chef Rafa Zafra, a museum with iconic outfits of the artist, and a stage featuring performances by Amaia, Nathy Peluso, Guitarricadelafuente, and Lia Kali. The opening night concluded in the early hours with a carnival parade in the style of Barranquilla at Macondo Plaza.
For attendees of the remaining 11 dates, the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid has activated a special operation. The Metro Line 3 (Moncloa - Villaverde Alto) is increasing frequencies at the Villaverde Alto station, about a 15-minute walk from the main entrance. The Cercanías lines C-4A, C-4B, and C-5 connect to that same station and will expand service after the concerts. The EMT lines 22 and 79 will also be reinforced during the day, along with the night lines N14 and N15. The organisation recommends using public transport and allowing extra time, as access via the A-42 and M-45 is subject to restrictions.
