The Romanian operator reaches 1,856 operational mobile antennas in Spain, although only two are owned by them. The first is in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid).
Digi has surpassed 1,856 mobile antennas operational in Spain, according to data published by BandaAncha. Of all these, only two are owned by them: with radiant panels, radio units, and their own baseband. The first is installed in the warehouses of their logistics platform in the VGP park in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid, and the second in their warehouses in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona). Both exclusively operate in the 1,800 MHz band.
The Romanian operator activated its first mobile antenna in May 2025, after purchasing frequencies from MásOrange. By April 2026, it had already surpassed 1,000 active antennas and is now on track to double that figure. The pace will need to accelerate to meet its goal of 5,000 antennas by the end of 2028 and 10,000 by 2033, with 1,000 new ones each year from 2029.
Almost all antennas are deployed over the radio access network of Telefónica, which has around 22,000 sites. The RAN sharing agreement between both operators allows Telefónica's equipment to operate on Digi's frequencies of 1,800 and 2,100 MHz (MORAN) and for Movistar to add Digi's spectrum in the same band at 3.6 GHz (MOCN).
According to information obtained by BandaAncha, Digi plans to build with its own means less than 10% of the planned antennas. This means that by 2033 it will have less than 1,000 owned sites out of the 10,000 it expects to have operational.

The deployment of the first owned antenna in San Fernando de Henares positions the Community of Madrid as the starting point of the infrastructure that Digi directly controls. The operator has not detailed whether it plans to install more of its own equipment in the region.
