Dani Carvajal has passed the medical with Getafe, but his signing remains unresolved. The player is demanding a clause to leave if he receives an offer in the winter market, a condition that the club rejects.

The signing of Dani Carvajal by Getafe is still not resolved. The full-back passed the medical with the blue club, but the contract drafting has stalled due to a demand from the player: he wants a clause that allows him to leave if an offer from another team arrives in the winter market. This was revealed by journalist Roberto Gómez on Radio Marca, as reported by Mundiario.

This condition has changed the scenario in the Coliseum offices. Getafe's sports commission viewed Carvajal as a reinforcement for the entire season, not just for two months. Accepting the clause would leave the club without control over a player they consider a key piece for the right flank.

The only thing happening is that Carvajal, according to the information, wants a clause that allows him to leave if he receives an offer from another team in the winter market

The informant himself explained the Madrid entity's stance on such a short-term agreement: “As you can understand, making a situation for two months for anyone with two fingers of sense...,” he stated on air. The club believes that committing resources and disrupting the locker room dynamic for a period of eight weeks makes no sense.

Getafe's president, Ángel Torres, had publicly stated that the agreement was closed pending LaLiga's approval. The request for a release letter for January cooled the optimism. Sources involved in the negotiations insist that the approval from the economic control body is necessary to register any contract, but the real point of friction is the escape clause.

In José Bordalás's coaching staff, they are closely following the operation. The Alicante coach values the experience of a player who has won six Champions Leagues, but he knows that building the scheme with a player who could leave in January carries risks. The full-back's entourage, who is from Leganés, prefers not to commit to a long-term deal and to evaluate the winter market in case an international opportunity arises.

Despite the distance, Roberto Gómez did not consider the negotiation broken: “But, be careful, there could be some situation or some bombshell out there as well,” he warned. Time is running against them and registrations are pressing. Getafe must decide whether to accept having Carvajal only until Christmas or to discard the operation to protect the stability of the locker room.
