Ángel Torres confirms that he has spoken with Sergio Ramos' representative, but the signing is not a priority because Getafe has six centre-backs. It could be revisited in January.

Ángel Torres, president of Getafe, confirmed this Sunday that he has held discussions with René Ramos, brother and representative of Sergio Ramos, to explore a possible arrival of the former Real Madrid defender to the blue team. According to Infobae, Torres made these statements on the Tablero Deportivo programme of Radio Nacional de España.

When asked if he would sign Sergio Ramos if he were "within reach", the official replied that he would. He then added that contact already exists:

His agent, his brother has been talking to me.

Torres clarified that the operation is not a priority, as the squad has six centre-backs. He explained that the needs of José Bordalás' team are to strengthen the flanks.

We have six centre-backs. It's not a position we need right now... The coach wanted wingers. But it's not too late. I mean, he's on the list of potential signings.

The president did not rule out that the operation could be revisited in the winter market in January, if the club needs a centre-back. Sergio Ramos, aged 40, has been without a team since leaving Monterrey in Mexico at the end of 2025. His last official match was the 3-2 defeat against Toluca in the semifinals of the Apertura tournament on December 6.

A possible arrival would mean a reunion with Dani Carvajal, his former teammate at Real Madrid, who has just signed with Getafe until June 30, 2027. Any movement will depend on the club's sports planning and the priorities set by Bordalás.
