Argentinian defender Zaid Romero has rejoined Getafe's training after a muscle injury in his quadriceps. He could start this Thursday against Brighton.

The Argentinian defender Zaid Romero is back training with his Getafe CF teammates, according to AS. The player has recovered from the muscle injury in his quadriceps that he suffered on October 10 at Camp Nou during the match against Barcelona. Almost a month later, he is available for the coach, José Bordalás.

Romero could make his return this Thursday against Brighton in the third round of the Conference League. His starting position will depend on how the player feels and the final decision of the coach.

His return comes at a delicate time for the blue defence. The team has conceded six goals in two European matches, has one point from six possible, and has a goal difference of -4. In their debut, they drew 1-1 with Universitatea Craiova in Romania, and in the second round, they lost 2-5 to Lugano at the Coliseum.

Romero is a versatile centre-back who can also play as a left-back, giving Bordalás more options to reorganise the defence. Before his injury, he was a regular part of the team's setup.

Getafe will also benefit this weekend from the strong performance of Sebastián Boselli against Sevilla, where the Uruguayan delivered his best display since joining the club. Brighton will be the first test to see if the team can regain solidity at the back in Europe.
