The Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza hosts 25 17th-century works, including Vermeer's View of Delft, in a simultaneous exchange with The Hague's Mauritshuis.

According to moncloa.com, the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid will exhibit 25 works from the 17th century loaned by the Mauritshuis in The Hague. In return, the Dutch gallery will receive a selection of pieces from the permanent collection of the Madrid museum. The exchange is simultaneous and occurs in both directions.

The main attraction is View of Delft, by Johannes Vermeer, painted around 1660-1661. It is one of the few surviving urban views by the artist, who is attributed with around thirty works worldwide. The piece is part of the core collection of the Mauritshuis.

The works are gathered in the so-called classical rooms, a new space in the museum located near the areas that already host the Dutch school. According to the information, the setup allows the pieces to be viewed alongside the Thyssen's own collection, so regular visitors will see a different collection in the same building.

There is still no public opening schedule, as the information provided by the museum does not specify dates. It is advisable to check the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza website before planning a visit, especially on weekends.

To get there, the museum is close to Metro Banco de España (L2) and Atocha (L1), and has Cercanías services at Recoletos and Atocha. There are also paid parking facilities in the vicinity. Those coming from Móstoles, Alcalá de Henares, or Getafe can use a direct Cercanías service.

The pieces are integrated into the usual route, so tickets are purchased just like any other day. Additionally, Vermeer's work will attract non-regular visitors, and queues are expected.
