The Community of Madrid has accumulated 33,608 deaths until August 30, a 0.18% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. The decline is less than the national average of 0.87%.

The Community of Madrid has recorded 33,608 deaths between January 1 and August 30, 2026, representing a decrease of 0.18% from the 33,669 recorded in the same period of 2025. The data, released this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), shows the Madrid decline below the national average, which has fallen by 0.87% to 298,605 deaths, according to madridactual.es.

The INE report corresponds to week 35 of the year and details that between August 3 and 30, there were 2,769 deaths in the region. Across Spain, that same period saw 31,047 deaths.

By gender, of the total accumulated in the Community of Madrid until the end of August, 16,181 are men and 17,427 are women.

The difference between the regional decline and the national one remains in the published data, with the INE not detailing the causes of this variation.
