The municipalities of the Community of Madrid celebrate the European Mobility Week from September 16 to 22 with free charging, marches, and electric vehicle fairs.

The European Mobility Week takes place from September 16 to 22 in various municipalities of the Community of Madrid with programmes tailored to each locality, as detailed in information published by Telemadrid. Las Rozas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Coslada, Leganés, and Pozuelo de Alarcón have organised activities to promote sustainable, safe, and inclusive travel.

In Las Rozas, the Town Hall offers free charging throughout the week at 56 points in the municipal network for electric vehicles, as well as free use of secure parking for bicycles and scooters. The charging points are located in the car parks on Avenida de la Constitución, at the León Tolstoi Library, and in the Multimodal Mobility Areas of Las Matas and the Business Park, which also feature individual lockers with sockets.

The initiative, managed by Las Rozas Innova, aims to raise awareness of the available infrastructure. Las Matas has seven charging spots for electric cars and 20 secure parking spaces; the Business Park has eight spots and 10 lockers. All services are managed through the Las Rozas Recarga app, as well as Zunder and other applications.

San Sebastián de los Reyes focuses its programming on intergenerational equity, with proposals for seniors, schoolchildren, and families. The week kicks off with a seven-kilometre walk for older adults. On September 20, schoolchildren will participate in road safety education activities at Parque Pedro Ramos. On September 22, World Car-Free Day, students from CEIP León Felipe will take a bike ride and participate in activities at the Municipal Velodrome.

In Coslada, most activities are aimed at schoolchildren. The week begins with a guided walk through the Humedal park, followed by a children's bike circuit for road safety education. On September 21, safe routes will be organised for cycling to educational centres. On the 22nd, there will be a cycling route through the Humedal and the reading of the Mobility Manifesto in Plaza Mayor.

Leganés is celebrating its first ECO Vehicle Fair, dedicated to hybrid and electric cars, at the City of Automobiles starting this Wednesday. The fair, which runs in the morning and afternoon, includes a collection of used bicycles promoted by the Alberto Contador Foundation, school cycling routes, a conference on artificial intelligence and transport, a gymkhana, exhibitions, and an open day at the Road Safety Education Park.

Leganés becomes a national benchmark with the ECO Vehicle Fair, which will take place during Mobility Week at the City of Automobiles. From September 16 to 22, there will be a programme that combines innovation, road safety education, cycling, and mobility.

The Town Hall of Leganés aims to use the week to encourage a change in habits and open the debate on the future mobility of the municipality. Activities will take place until September 22 in the spaces indicated by each council.
