The scheduled cuts by i-DE will affect 28 municipalities in the Community of Madrid between Monday, November 2, and Sunday, November 8. Residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.
According to moncloa.com, i-DE, a distributor of the Iberdrola Group, has scheduled a week of power cuts in Madrid capital and in 28 municipalities of the region. The works will begin on Monday, November 2, and will end on Sunday, November 8, affecting lines, transformation centres, and substations.
The company attributes the operation to network maintenance. According to the distributor, the works are necessary to improve service quality:
they are essential to enhance service quality and ensure the safety of the facilities
Residents affected will be informed of the cut through posters placed in the lobbies, indicating the start and end times with a minimum notice of 24 hours.
Among the municipalities included are Alcalá de Henares, Móstoles, Leganés, Getafe, Parla, Torrejón de Ardoz, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Majadahonda, Colmenar Viejo, and Valdemoro. The list also includes towns from the Henares corridor, the west and southwest, as well as the northern mountains.
In the capital, the cuts are distributed by districts, and each area has its own time slot. The complete list with portals and times is published by the distributor and is specified later on the posters of each building.
If the crew finishes earlier than expected, the supply will be restored without notice. Therefore, i-DE requests that no one tamper with the installation during the cut period.
Anyone who has a person at home dependent on a medical device that requires power, such as oxygen, home dialysis, or ventilation, must request the telephone notification.
