The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has been informed of a contract worth 3.7 million euros for 38 residential places with a day centre in San Sebastián de los Reyes, aimed at people with intellectual disabilities.

The service is directed at individuals with intellectual disabilities and severe associated behavioural disorders, and will last from 1 December 2026 to 31 July 2028, approximately twenty months.
The contract is not limited to accommodation and meals. The professionals at the centre offer specialised support tailored to each user, including therapeutic services, rehabilitation sessions, psychological, social and medical care, and leisure activities. The stated aim is to halt cognitive decline and promote autonomy and social integration.
Divided among the 38 individuals over twenty months, the amount equates to about 4,868 euros per month per place. The documentation does not specify whether the places are new or renew an existing agreement. The places are regional, not municipal, and are requested through the Base Centres for Attention to People with Disabilities, which assess each case.
The same Governing Council agreed to allocate 1.9 million for the maintenance of 206 public residential and day care places for individuals with intellectual disabilities experiencing premature aging. These are distributed between the San Blas-Canillejas district in Madrid and the municipalities of Colmenarejo and Torrelodones. These contracts, stemming from the Framework Agreement, run from 1 December 2026 to 31 March 2027.
