The Community of Madrid will allocate over €6.4 million to excellence scholarships that will benefit more than 3,000 students. Students from the north of the region can apply if they meet the minimum required grade.
Students from La Moraleja, Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, and other municipalities in northern Madrid with outstanding academic records will be eligible for the Excellence Scholarships from the Community of Madrid for the 2026/27 academic year, as reported by La Mirada Norte. The regional Government Council has approved an investment of over €6.4 million for these grants, which will reach more than 3,000 students.
The scholarships are aimed at both new students and those already enrolled in Madrid universities and affiliated centres based in the region, as well as in higher artistic education institutions. Each beneficiary will receive €2,100 to support their education.
To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a minimum average grade. First-time university entrants must have at least 12.9 points, while those starting higher artistic education must have 11 points.
Currently enrolled students need 8.35 points in Engineering and Architecture, 8.85 points in Medicine and double degrees, and 9.2 points in other studies. For higher artistic education, the minimum grade is 8.5.
The call for the 2026/27 academic year will be published in November. Students from the northern region who meet the requirements will then be able to check the conditions and procedures for applying for the grants.
