A report from the municipal Secretariat acknowledges that an appeal from Más Madrid was submitted on time, over a year after the Town Hall rejected it. The party denounces the Government's silence in the Plenary.

A report from the Town Hall of El Escorial, dated 15 September 2026, acknowledges that the appeal from Más Madrid against the dedication regime of the councillors was indeed registered on time. The information, reported by adelantesierra.es, recalls that the council had previously rejected it as late.

The document was submitted in August 2025 against a modification that set a partial dedication of 95% for one of the municipal Government's departments.

The error was in the calculation of the days. The deadline expired on Saturday 2 August 2025 and, according to administrative regulations, it was extended to Monday 4 August, the day the party registered the appeal.

The spokesperson for Más Madrid El Escorial, Antuan Lazoryk Teroshkin, argues that this is a basic procedural rule and not a political disagreement:

It is profoundly shameful that a Town Hall has needed more than a year and a judicial procedure to acknowledge something as elementary as that a deadline ending on a Saturday is extended to the next working day.

The contentious-administrative procedure was temporarily suspended under the article 54.2 of the Law of Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction, so that the municipal legal defence could convey its opinion to the Administration. For Más Madrid, the error could have been corrected much earlier, avoiding the judicial conflict.

The party brought its questions to the ordinary Plenary on 4 November and requested explanations regarding the processing of the file and possible costs. They allege that the Popular Party Government did not respond and merely voted, without explaining the costs or who authorised the continuation after the rejection.

Más Madrid announces that it will defend in court the imposition of the corresponding costs, although the decision lies with the judicial body. They also demand to know how much the legal defence has cost so far and what political responsibilities will be assumed.

The party clarifies that the acknowledgment of the deadline does not imply that the Town Hall accepts their arguments regarding the substance of the 95% dedication, a matter in which, they indicate, there is still legal disagreement.
