Minister Félix Bolaños will speak on Saturday, November 7, at a PSOE event in Leganés. This is the first pre-campaign event following the Urda train tragedy.

The reactivation of the electoral pre-campaign, as detailed by Noticias para Municipios, has its first major event in Leganés. The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, will participate this Saturday, November 7, in a PSOE event at the Centro Municipal Las Dehesillas, located at Avenida del Museo, number 4.

The meeting will begin at 11:30 AM under the slogan “The strength of the people”. He will be joined by Pilar Sánchez Acera, Secretary of Organisation of the PSOE of Madrid; Aránzazu Figueroa, General Secretary of the Socialist Youth of Spain, and Miguel Recuenco, General Secretary of the PSOE of Leganés.

The parties suspended their pre-campaign events following the train accident on October 28 in Urda (Toledo), which resulted in 69 fatalities. They are now resuming their activities with the general elections on November 29 in sight.

The resignation of Óscar Puente as Minister of Transport, announced on November 3, also marks this return. Puente also communicated that he is withdrawing from the Socialist candidacy for Valladolid. His departure came after he appeared before the Permanent Deputation of Congress regarding the accident.

Leganés, one of the most populated municipalities in the south of the Community of Madrid, is thus one of the first stops for the PSOE in the region. The official electoral campaign will begin on November 13, and Saturday's event will take place 22 days before the voting.
