The National Police is investigating the violent death of a woman whose body was discovered on Saturday inside a home in Leganés. The VI Homicide Group has taken over the case, as reported by the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid, according to miracorredor.tv.
The events came to light around 15:15 hours, when a man accessed his daughter's home after not hearing from her for some time. The father, who had keys to the property, found the interior in disarray and called 091, initially thinking that someone might have broken in to steal.
Officers from the National Police's Citizen Attention Group arrived at the scene. Upon entering the property, they located the deceased woman, who showed signs of violence. A knife with what appeared to be blood stains was also found next to the victim, according to initial police reports.
Investigators are keeping all hypotheses open and do not rule out any lines of inquiry, including the possibility that this is a case of gender-based violence.
This is the second crime recorded on Saturday in the Community of Madrid. In the morning, the National Police arrested an 85-year-old man for allegedly killing his ex-daughter-in-law, aged 47, who was found showing signs of strangulation in a home on Ferrocarril Street, in the Arganzuela district.
The investigation remains open to clarify the exact circumstances of the death. The National Police has not yet provided further details about the victim's identity or any possible arrests.
