The proposal aims to prioritise vehicles coming from Avenida de los Rosales. The General Directorate of Roads of the Community of Madrid must authorise it before implementation.

The Getafe City Council has requested the Community of Madrid to reserve the outer lane of a roundabout on the M-301 for vehicles coming from Avenida de los Rosales. The request, as reported by MadridInforma, was made by the mayor, Sara Hernández, to the regional General Directorate of Roads.

Residents of Perales del Río experience traffic jams every morning when leaving the neighbourhood, a problem that has worsened with recent construction work. The measure would be temporary and aims to facilitate daily commutes to work, school, or other locations in southern Madrid.

The proposal would separate the two lanes of the roundabout with cones or other signage. A report from the Traffic Sector of Madrid from the Guardia Civil considers a temporary trial advisable to see if it improves traffic flow. Since the M-301 is a regional road, its implementation depends on regional authorisation.

According to the City Council, priority would be linked to the access used, and no residency accreditation system has been announced. No confirmed date exists: the General Directorate of Roads must decide whether to authorise the trial, how the separation elements would be installed, and during which hours it would operate. The council believes that the solution should not depend on the permanent presence of officers, who also attend to other incidents and emergencies.

Meanwhile, the City Council is working to restore two-way traffic on Vereda de la Torrecilla, which was limited after the damage caused by Storm Filomena in 2021. The project has an initial investment of around one million euros and a planned duration of four months. The council expects to enable the outbound direction by the end of October, although there will still be work on the margins that may require new traffic closures, and the effective opening will need to be confirmed.

Additionally, the municipal government is demanding a new roundabout for direct access from the M-301 to Perales del Río, a different action from the temporary adjustment of the existing roundabout, which, according to the City Council itself, has been delayed for nearly twenty years.
