A total of 76 people signed up for the Cercanías Madrid scavenger hunt for Mobility Week, which involved visiting 10 stations in the shortest time possible on Saturday, September 19.
A total of 76 people participated this Saturday, September 19, in the scavenger hunt organized by Cercanías Madrid for Mobility Week, according to Gacetín Madrid. The challenge consisted of visiting, in the shortest time possible, ten stations of the Cercanías network.
Participants had from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM to complete the route. The stations to be visited were Príncipe Pío, Pozuelo, Villalba, Chamartín, Tres Cantos, Sol, Atocha, Alcorcón, Getafe Centro, and Torrejón de Ardoz. Their names were kept secret until 7:00 PM on Friday, September 18, so that all registered participants had the same preparation time.
The challenge started at the Príncipe Pío station, where each contestant was given a document with the rules and a contactless card to travel on Cercanías. A Validation Commission checks from the end of the challenge that each participant completed the route correctly and using only services from the Renfe Cercanías Madrid network.
For a station to be considered valid, each contestant had to get off the train and perform an exit validation and another entry validation with the transport title provided. The records from the access control systems are the official source to verify the completed stations, calculate the times, and prepare the ranking.
The ranking first considers the number of stations completed correctly and, in case of a tie, the shortest time elapsed between the first entry validation at Príncipe Pío and the exit validation from the last completed station, regardless of the start time.
Renfe will publish the names of the winners on its official account @Renfe on X and on its website. Additionally, each winner will be informed by phone of their status and the date and location of the prize delivery. Communications will begin from October 1.
The top three finishers will receive, in order of ranking, a Brompton C-line 12v Mid bicycle; a trip for two people for 3 days and 2 nights, for the 2027 season, on the Expreso de la Robla (Bilbao – León); and a trip for four people on the Tren de Cervantes.
