Pozuelo de Alarcón begins the urbanisation of Huerta Grande, a development of up to 775 homes, of which 434 will have public protection. The project includes a park of nearly 4 hectares and the restoration of the Hydraulic Complex of La Poza.
According to diariodepozuelo.es, the Town Hall of Pozuelo de Alarcón has started the urbanisation works of Huerta Grande, a development that anticipates up to 775 homes. Of these, 434 (56% of the total) will be subject to public protection under a Limited Price scheme.
The offer will be completed with 270 free market homes in an open block, 66 in Low Density Residential, and five single-family homes. The Town Hall will also promote the construction of 105 protected homes on municipal plots, aimed at young people and families.
The mayor, Paloma Tejero, has defended the project with these words: "Huerta Grande is much more than an urban development: it is a total transformation of one of the areas of Pozuelo that needed it the most".
The area, covering 285,120 m² of land, will be located next to the urban centre and will connect the Camino de las Huertas, Campomanes Street, the old road to Majadahonda, and the sectors close to the M-503. It anticipates a public park of about 37,000 m² next to the Arroyo de las Pozas and another green area of about 9,000 m².
The project will protect the Hydraulic Complex of La Poza, a Heritage Asset of the Community of Madrid, with its underground gallery of about 450 metres, three ventilation chimneys, the Wash House, and the Fountain of the Four Pipes. The historic house that gives the area its name will be preserved.
The president of the Compensation Board, Alejandro Fernández Díaz de Lope Díaz, has highlighted that the start of the works "represents the culmination of many years of work and commitment by the owners of the area".
