The City Council and Las Rozas Innova will attend the Smart City Expo World Congress from November 3 to 5 with their own stand and 23 companies and startups from the local ecosystem.
Las Rozas will participate from November 3 to 5 in the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), the largest international event on urban innovation and smart cities, which is celebrating its fifteenth edition in Barcelona. The City Council and Las Rozas Innova, the municipal company for innovation and technological development, will showcase the technological strategy implemented in the city in recent years, according to noroestemadrid.com.
The municipality will have its own stand, located in Pavilion 3, stand D70, and will be accompanied by more than twenty technology companies and startups from its innovation ecosystem. In total, 23 companies will share experiences, success stories, and solutions applied to mobility, security, sustainability, public service digitalization, energy, connectivity, and artificial intelligence.
The space will include an agora for presentations and a networking area, aiming to become a meeting point between the business and entrepreneurial ecosystem, cities from around the world, universities, innovation institutes, and representatives of national and international networks of smart cities that Las Rozas collaborates with.
Among the participating companies are HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise), Grupo Maggioli, NEC, Cyclomedia, Dnota, Schréder, Aeioros, Retail Tools, Orange, Dominion, Viarium, Dos Espacios, Libelium, Riversa-Irridea, DXC Technology, Gewiss, Mejoras Energéticas, and Seresco. Startups iCatalist, Vapasec, Zeronet, Tribbu, and SustainXP will also be present, offering solutions in innovation financing, cybersecurity, connectivity, citizen participation, and sustainability.
Las Rozas is the tenth city in Spain with the most technology companies, the third in the Community of Madrid with the most companies (over 10,600), and the second in Madrid with the most startups, only behind the capital. Additionally, it has been recognized as one of the seven smartest communities in the world by the Intelligent Community Forum.
More than a decade ago, we launched a strategy to turn Las Rozas into a city of opportunities, capable of attracting talent, investment, and innovative companies. Participating in the Smart City Expo World Congress allows us to share with other cities how innovation and public-private collaboration can improve people's quality of life, showcase the strength of our business and entrepreneurial ecosystem, and our capacity as a city to apply the latest technology in our services, in our streets, thus attracting projects, companies, and talent,” says José de la Uz, mayor of Las Rozas and president of Las Rozas Innova.
The Smart City Expo World Congress will be held in Barcelona from November 3 to 5. The Las Rozas stand will be open in Pavilion 3, stand D70, throughout the three days of the event.
