Interihotel MAD26 will set up its Xperience Lab space at Ifema Madrid, featuring four demonstrators of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and industrialised construction for the hotel sector.
From November 17 to 19, Ifema Madrid will host Interihotel MAD26 and, within the fair, the Xperience Lab space, dedicated to testing digital technologies applied to the design of hotels and restaurants. According to revistahosteleria.com, the proposal is part of Interiors Living Lab, a project by Ambit Living Spaces Cluster.
It is aimed at interior designers, architects, manufacturers, and hospitality professionals. Attendees will be able to use virtual and augmented reality, generative artificial intelligence, and the digital configuration of industrialised construction systems to validate decisions with clients and share projects.
In The Virtual Layer, the user defines the layout of a room from a touchscreen and views it at real scale with wireless virtual reality glasses. They can add furniture, lighting, materials, and finishes, and observe changes in real time. The environment allows for the configuration of products from the exhibiting brands of Interihotel associated with the cluster and generates photorealistic renders and 360-degree views. The demonstrator is led by the cluster alongside Produktia.

In The Co-creative Cube, the visitor requests changes in a hotel space through voice instructions to an artificial intelligence agent. They choose one of the real projects from architecture and interior design studios associated with the cluster, and the system generates a new visual proposal projected onto the four walls of an immersive cube. The installation is developed by Framemov, with the participation of El Equipo Creativo, Verum HD, and Sezam Studio.
In The Unfolding Maquette, a digital model appears on a physical surface through augmented reality. The visitor can unfold one of their spaces at a 1:1 scale and explore its interior. Between three and four people can explore the same project simultaneously. It is developed by Tetravol, in collaboration with Dfactory Barcelona.
The fourth proposal, The Configurable Module, focuses on industrialised construction. With a visual interface, the user modifies dimensions, components, materials, and the layout of a construction module, and consults the budget in real time. It applies the principles of Dfma (design for manufacturing and assembly) and is part of Bim2hab, a project led by the cluster with Wisebuild, Lúcid, and Berrilan.
For manufacturers of furniture, lighting, coverings, and equipment, the experience allows them to incorporate their products directly into the digital models. Xperience Lab will be at Ifema Madrid during Interihotel MAD26, from November 17 to 19.
