Renfe's minimum services are 75% during peak hours and 50% for the rest of the day. Lines C-1, C-3, and C-4 are experiencing disruptions due to the 24-hour strike by Semaf.

According to elpespunte.es, Cercanías Madrid trains are running this Thursday October 29, 2026 with disruptions due to the Renfe train drivers' strike. Thousands of travellers in the Community of Madrid will face difficulties travelling by train.

The 24-hour strike has been called by the Spanish Union of Train Drivers and Railway Assistants (Semaf). The stoppages begin at 00:01 and last until 23:59. The union has maintained the strike call despite the railway accident that occurred on Wednesday in Urda, Toledo.

Renfe warns that the service will be heavily affected throughout the day, with cancellations, longer waits, route changes, and passenger accumulation at some stations. The company recommends using other means of transport whenever possible.

Initial reports this morning indicate interruptions on lines C-1, C-3, and C-4. The C-1 connects Príncipe Pío with Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, the C-3 goes to Aranjuez, and the C-4 links the north of the region with Parla. The rest of the network may also experience delays and modifications.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has established minimum services. 75% of the usual trains will run between 6:00 and 9:00, from 13:30 to 15:30, and from 18:30 to 20:30. For the rest of the day, the minimum service will be 50%.

Semaf is demanding improvements in railway safety, maintenance, emergency protocols, working conditions, and reliability of equipment. Renfe argues that some of these issues exceed its competencies and defends the actions taken in safety, hiring, and maintenance.

The Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid has coordinated a special plan with Metro de Madrid, the Municipal Transport Company (EMT), and intercity buses to provide alternatives. Metro de Madrid is not part of the strike. Users can check their connections before leaving, as increased demand may lead to higher occupancy on some routes.
