The Community of Madrid plans to spend up to €7.6 million on bullfighting in 2027, nearly 70% more than in 2025. The largest allocation is for the Plaza de las Ventas.

As reported by El Debate, the Community of Madrid will allocate up to €7.6 million to expenses related to bullfighting in 2027. This figure appears in the draft of the General Budget Law, officially presented on Friday, October 30, detailing the expenditure of the Centre for Bullfighting Affairs.

This figure represents a slight increase compared to 2026, when the regional government set this expenditure at around €7.5 million. Compared to 2025, with €4.5 million, the increase approaches 70%.

The majority of the funds will be allocated to the repair and maintenance of the Plaza de las Ventas in Madrid, with €3.5 million. The works will affect the pens and the maintenance of trees, shrubs, and various plots.

The budgets also include a subsidy of €1.7 million to the Todo de Lidia Foundation and the transfer of over €500,000 to local corporations and non-profit institutions. Personnel expenses, including destination supplements, specific allowances, seniority payments, and remuneration for senior officials, amount to nearly €900,000.
