Four young people aged between 17 and 22 were injured on Friday night after the car they were travelling in veered off the service road of the M-506, fell down an embankment, and ended up catching fire in the municipality of Pinto. The incident occurred around 23:23, at kilometre 23 of that road, according to laregion.es.

For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and plunged down the slope. After the impact, the car began to burn and the flames spread to the vegetation along the roadside.

The Firefighters of the Community of Madrid were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire, which completely destroyed the car.

The four occupants were treated and stabilised at the scene by SUMMA 112 personnel, with the help of the Municipal Emergency and Rescue First Intervention Service (PIMER) of Pinto.

The most seriously injured is a 19-year-old who suffered multiple traumas and was evacuated to Hospital 12 de Octubre in serious condition.

The driver, aged 20, and the passenger, aged 22, are in potentially serious condition. The young woman was taken to Hospital Clínico San Carlos and the young man to Gregorio Marañón. The fourth occupant, a 17-year-old minor, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hospital Puerta de Hierro.

The Guardia Civil has taken over the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the accident and determine what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
