Superchulo, La Cantina de Mama Campo, Fismuler, Grosso Napoletano and Honest Greens serve sweet potato in very different formats, from grilled sweet potatoes to pizza and sticks.

Sweet potato gains presence on Madrid's menus during the cold months, and several venues in the capital use it as a starter, side dish, or seasonal ingredient. According to OK Diario, the publication has selected five restaurants where you can try it this autumn.

The first is Superchulo, located at Calle de Manuela Malasaña 11, in Malasaña. Its vegetarian kitchen grills the sweet potatoes in a charcoal oven and serves them with goat cheese cream, fresh pomegranate, aromatic herbs, and toasted nuts.

At La Cantina de Mama Campo, located at Calle de Trafalgar 22, next to Plaza de Olavide in Chamberí, the signature dish is a slow-roasted sweet potato pie with mild spices. It is accompanied by a seasonal mushroom stew and extra virgin olive oil, and the menu works with small local organic farmers.

Fismuler, a project by chefs Nino Redruello and Patxi Zumárraga, is located at Calle de Sagasta 29, in Almagro. It serves a fine cream of roasted sweet potato with toasted butter, pink pepper, and crispy pork cracklings.

Grosso Napoletano has several locations, including those on Calle Hermosilla, Gaztambide, and Santa Engracia. Its limited edition autumn pizza replaces tomato with a cream of roasted sweet potato and includes fiordilatte cheese, crispy Italian pancetta, and fresh rosemary.

Honest Greens has restaurants on Paseo de la Castellana, Gran Vía, and Calle Serrano. Their sweet potato sticks are baked with salt and served with black garlic aioli or a cilantro and sesame sauce.
