The Community of Madrid launches Historias con Vida, with free routes every Saturday in November guided by local seniors. The first one is this Saturday in Colmenar de Oreja.

As reported by fuenlabradanoticias.com, the Community of Madrid is launching this weekend Historias con Vida, a programme of free tourist routes that will explore municipalities in the region every Saturday in November. The initiative is part of Pueblos Vida and focuses on the regions of Las Vegas and Alcarria Madrileña.

The tours, accompanied at all times by a professional guide, are led by local seniors who share their knowledge about gastronomy, traditional crafts, architecture, and popular customs.

The first route is this Saturday in Colmenar de Oreja, where Jesús Olivas and Isabel Trujillo will showcase the Teatro Diéguez, the plaza Mayor, and the church of Santa María la Mayor.

The following dates are as follows:

On 14 November, in Morata de Tajuña, Ermelinda Roldán will guide through the church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción and the museums of Molinería and the Civil War.

On 21 November, in Valdilecha, Juan Bautista Orusco will explain the agricultural origins of the municipality, with stops at the Cooperativa del Campo San Isidro, the Almazara Virgen de la Oliva, and the church of San Martín Obispo.

On 28 November, in Tielmes, Paco Barbero will take the group to the Municipal Washhouse, the Cave House, and the Rural School Museum.

In the last three days of the month, Cristina Martínez will also join the tours.

Groups for the first four routes are limited to 20 people. Advance reservation is mandatory and can be made via email at reservaturismo@madrid.org.
