According to Telemadrid, a woman remains in serious condition after suffering an alleged knife attack in a house at number 3 Velázquez Street, in the San Isidro neighbourhood of Alcalá de Henares. The events occurred in the morning.
The first officers to arrive, around 9:40 AM, were from the Local Police of Alcalá de Henares, who accessed the fourth-floor flat and initially arrested the alleged attacker. The National Police then took over the investigation.
A neighbour returning from walking her dog saw the police presence at the entrance. According to her account, she saw the arrested man leave handcuffed and covered in blood, and shortly after, the injured woman was brought down with assistance from 112.
According to testimonies gathered from neighbours, the arrested man lived in the home with another woman, with whom he had a romantic relationship. The victim was said to have had some kind of connection with him and had gone to the house to confront him about something, according to what the arrested man himself stated.
A neighbour from the adjacent flat reported hearing the man crying and complaining before the emergency services arrived:
We heard the neighbour crying, complaining, lamenting something he might have done.
Upon leaving the property, that same neighbour noticed that the man had injuries that could be consistent with cuts on his wrists.
During the intervention, the National Police found seven knives with blood traces inside the house, which may have been used in the attack.
The woman was attended to by SUMMA 112 and transferred to La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, where she remains hospitalised in serious condition due to her injuries, particularly in the neck area. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances of the events, the relationship between the two, and the exact sequence of what occurred.
