Canarian artist Zoa Monher opens her first solo exhibition in Madrid on November 13 at Arma Gallery. The show will remain open until December 12.
The Canarian artist Zoa Monher presents her first solo exhibition in Madrid on November 13 at 19:00 in Arma Gallery. According to laprovincia.es, the exhibition is titled Cuando bajan las diosas and marks a new step in the career of this creator born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1997.
In her painting, Monher explores the body, memory, motherhood, and female power through mythology, alchemy, and archetypes. Elements such as water, the egg, the swan, Venus, and Hecate appear, translated into the present and linked to physical and emotional processes of transformation.
Motherhood occupies a central place in her research, as an experience that changes the body and the way one perceives oneself. From this perspective, the artist reflects on how identity is constructed and the persistence of certain symbols related to the female experience throughout history. The title alludes to the transition of mythical figures into the body, personal experience, and the present.
The exhibition features 18 works on paper and 5 large-format canvases. As the gallery explains, the show is part of its commitment to supporting artists from new generations and bringing their proposals to new audiences and collectors.
The exhibition can be visited at Arma Gallery, located at calle Valverde, 30, first floor right, in the Madrid district of Centro, until December 12.
