Saint-Gobain is involved in the construction of 86 limited-price public housing units that Locare is building in Torrejón de Ardoz. The project includes insulation, climate control, partitioning, and drywall.
According to Interempresas, the Saint-Gobain group has provided its construction solutions for a development of 86 homes of limited-price public housing (VPPL) in Torrejón de Ardoz. The developer is Locare, the work is being carried out by Obras Especiales de Navarra, and the project is designed by the architecture firm BIEME.
The solutions include insulation, climate control, partitioning, and drywall, aimed at improving energy efficiency, interior comfort, and the building's durability. The homes are intended for rent.
For the building envelope, the project uses the external thermal insulation system webertherm ETICS, made up of graphite EPS panels. According to the company, this continuous layer reduces thermal bridges, lowers energy demand, and maintains more stable indoor temperatures.
The commitment to high-quality and attractive SATE facades has significantly improved energy efficiency and the overall quality of the buildings.
For climate control and ventilation, 3,500 m² of the CLIMAVER Neto system from Isover has been installed, allowing for self-supporting ducts with lower energy losses and quieter air distribution.
The partitioning and drywall total nearly 12,000 m² with products from Placo and Isover. These include Placo PPF panels, which have high fire resistance, Placo PPM, designed for kitchens and bathrooms due to their moisture resistance, and Placo BA, along with Isover's Drywall insulation system.
Saint-Gobain has been collaborating with Locare for over five years through its various brands, and some jointly developed projects have received BREEAM sustainability certification.
