GE HealthCare has obtained the highest rating, of five wheels, in a programme from the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work of the Community of Madrid regarding workplace road safety.
The company GE HealthCare has received the highest rating, of five wheels, in the Recognition programme for advances in Workplace Road Safety and its preventive integration, promoted by the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work (IRSST) of the Community of Madrid. According to RRHH Digital, the award recognises the company's efforts to prevent the risks associated with work-related travel.
The recognition takes into account road risk management, employee training and awareness, and the safety of vehicle fleets. All of this is framed within the principles of the ISO 39001 standard, which regulates road safety management systems.
To grant this award, the IRSST evaluated five areas: the integration of road safety plans into occupational risk prevention, a preventive culture based on risk assessment and monitoring of indicators, training programmes tailored to each employee, safety criteria in the purchase, management and maintenance of vehicles, and safe mobility alternatives with flexible work measures.
The diploma presentation took place on September 23 during an event organised by the IRSST. In this event, Alfonso Cabanillas de Baro, head of Environment, Health and Safety and Occupational Risk Prevention at GE HealthCare Iberia, participated as a speaker in an experience-sharing session alongside other recognised organisations.
This recognition is a validation of the work we have been doing to integrate road safety into our prevention culture. At GE HealthCare, we understand that the safety of our professionals goes beyond the workplace and must also be present in their daily commutes. Therefore, we will continue to promote initiatives that allow us to move towards increasingly safer mobility.
Cabanillas de Baro emphasised that the company will continue to promote initiatives to advance towards safer mobility for its professionals.
