Atlético Madrid has a buy-back clause for Sergio Camello, valid until 2027. The forward, on loan at Rayo Vallecano, could return in the winter market.

According to dorsal16.com, Atlético Madrid is considering the possibility of bringing back the Madrid-born forward Sergio Camello, who is currently playing for Rayo Vallecano. The deal could be finalised in the January market.

According to Tuttomercato, the red-and-white club retains a buy-back clause valid until 2027, reserved in August 2023 when the player moved to Rayo for five million euros. The amount of that clause has not been disclosed. For other interested parties, the approximate cost of the operation would be ten million euros.

The player is under contract until June 2027. If he does not extend his link with Rayo, he could leave as a free agent at the end of the season. The Vallecano club does not want to facilitate his departure, as Camello has scored seven goals and provided one assist in his first nine LaLiga matches.

Camello joined Atlético's youth academy in 2009, at the age of eight, and made his first-team debut in May 2019 against Levante. He was the first player born in the 21st century to score for the red-and-white team. He later played for Mirandés, where he scored fifteen goals in the 2021-22 season, and for Rayo, which opened the doors to La Liga for him.

In the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, he scored two goals during extra time of the final against France, which secured Spain the gold with a score of 3-5. According to reports, Camello is a forward known for his mobility, off-the-ball runs, and link-up play, a profile different from Alexander Sørloth. The Como of Cesc Fàbregas is also following his development.
