The Puerta del Sol in Madrid woke up this Monday with hundreds of people camping for the second consecutive day. The call comes from the Tenants' Union, which demands dignified housing and calls on the Government for a decree to address the issue, as reported by Infobae.
The protest could persist over time if the Council of Ministers does not approve a regulation on Tuesday that responds to the housing crisis. Participants have warned that the camping will continue until there is an effective solution.
The mobilization is not limited to the capital. Concentrations are planned in several cities across Spain on this Monday, in a day of pressure coordinated by the Tenants' Union.
The camping coincides with the final stretch of September and the start of the week in which the Government could present the requested decree to the Council of Ministers. The organization has called for participants to remain in the square until an official response is received.
The Tenants' Union keeps the call open and has asked participants to bring materials for overnight stays. The protest is taking place peacefully in the centre of Madrid.
