Parla starts the 2026-2027 course of the VEnCE cancer exercise programme with Forus. It is free and aimed at cancer patients in the municipality.
According to elresurgirdemadrid.com, the City Council of Parla, through the Sports Department, is launching a new edition of the Municipal Cancer Exercise Programme VEnCE with Forus during the 2026-2027 course. The initiative is free and is aimed at cancer patients in the municipality, in collaboration with Forus and the European University Foundation.
The Sports Councillor, Javier González Serrano, highlighted the programme's history, which was launched in 2024, as well as the new features for this course.
The physical exercise sessions will take place at the Forus Parla Municipal Sports Complex. Additionally, there will be two physical condition assessments scheduled for December and May, which will allow tracking the participants' progress.
The programme aims to improve physical capacity and help moderate some side effects of the disease and its treatments. To achieve this, it promotes the continuity of training throughout the course.
During the course, training workshops will be organised, with dates and speakers to be announced once confirmed. Each month, a podcast on a relevant scientific article will also be sent via WhatsApp, summarising its main results and conclusions.
To encourage continuity and the smooth operation of the groups, the programme requires a minimum attendance of 75 percent of the scheduled sessions. Absences due to hospital admission, medical appointments, acute effects of the disease or treatment, or injury will be considered justified, among other reasons.
Interested individuals can check the registration procedure and access conditions through the email provided in the programme information.
