The Government Delegation in Madrid will investigate the police actions recorded at an event of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, while the educational strike continues in the region.

Elma Saiz, government spokesperson and minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, criticized on Tuesday at the press conference following the Council of Ministers the words of Isabel Díaz Ayuso regarding the striking teachers. This is reported by moncloa.com.

On Monday, the president of the Community of Madrid described the teachers who are demonstrating in defence of public education as a "rociero choir" and warned that the education of children cannot be left in the hands of "violent" individuals. Ayuso denounces protests outside events and institutional headquarters since the beginning of the indefinite educational strike, and claims that at least three violent incidents have been recorded.

It is a barbarity to call our children's teachers violent.

Saiz labelled the words of the Madrid president as "absolutely irresponsible" and focused her reproach on the adjective used against the teachers.

For its part, the Government Delegation in Madrid will open an investigation into the police actions against demonstrators recorded during an event of Ayuso. According to the usual procedure, the investigation will consist of requesting reports from the police units that intervened and, if necessary, opening proceedings, without this alone implying political responsibility.

From the Madrid PP, it is maintained that the Government has not opened any investigation into the protests recorded in the region in recent weeks. The Madrid Assembly will debate the educational conflict in its next control session, and the evolution of the investigation will determine the next steps.
