The Ayuso government has published the minimum services for the general strike on November 11, which will affect hospitals, health centres, schools, and care homes.

According to epe.es, the government of the Community of Madrid has announced in the Official Bulletin the minimum services that must be maintained during the general strike called for November 11. The measure aims to guarantee urgent care and the protection of the most vulnerable individuals during the 24 hours of the strike.

The agreement was approved following negotiations that ended without an agreement with the calling unions. It affects hospitals, health centres, schools, institutes, emergency services, and care homes.

In public hospitals, the minimum staff will be equivalent to that which usually works on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, plus the personnel with scheduled shifts that day. Units such as Emergency, Critical Care, Dialysis, Oncology, Operating Theatres, Paediatrics, Radiotherapy, and Transplants will have reinforcements. The assigned personnel cannot exceed 35% of the staff of each hospital management, and private and concerted centres will be subject to the same levels as public ones.

In health centres, the staffing will depend on their size. Those with four or more family doctors must guarantee at least two per shift, in addition to a paediatrician, two nursing professionals, and an administrative assistant. The smaller ones will maintain one family doctor, one paediatrician, one nursing professional, and one administrative assistant. If there is no paediatrician on staff, another family doctor will substitute.

The SUMMA 112 will maintain 100% of the planned healthcare professionals in their shifts, including emergency teams, mobile units, and medical helicopters, as well as staff from the Continuity of Care Centres.

In schools, the regulation requires that there be a headteacher and a head of studies or, in their absence, a secretary. Early Childhood and Primary Education centres in the second cycle will have one teacher for every 50 students, and Secondary and Basic Vocational Training institutes will have one teacher for every 90 students. If there are 51 students in a school, for example, they must have two teachers.
