The Community of Madrid has opened a second period for school meal grants for the 2026/2027 academic year, which will be available until November 16.
Families in Leganés who need a school meal grant for the 2026/2027 academic year can still apply. This is reported by Leganés Activo, which informs that the Community of Madrid has enabled a second period open until November 16.
The call is aimed at both new students and those who did not receive the grant in September, whether due to errors in filling out the forms, lack of documentation, or late submission. Students who have joined the Madrid education system after the start of classes can also submit their applications.
The granted scholarships will have retroactive effect from the beginning of the academic year, so that beneficiary families will not lose the aid corresponding to the first months.
Students from Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Compulsory Secondary Education enrolled in publicly funded schools in the Community can apply. The information published for the previous academic year set a maximum annual family income per capita of 8,400 euros, with specific conditions for large families and members of the Armed Forces. The Community notes that this second period maintains the requirements of the first call, so it is advisable to consult the current regulations.
The documentation can be submitted on the official website of the Community of Madrid, through Cuenta Digital, at official registries, or at publicly funded schools. The application must be signed by all adults listed on it, and in some cases, supporting documentation must be attached.
The Community of Madrid reports that 135,600 students received a school meal grant in the first call for the 2026/2027 academic year. In 2025/2026, the aid reached 146,100 students after the second period was resolved, nearly 20,000 more than the previous year.
So far, the number of beneficiaries in Leganés or how many applications are expected in this second call has not been provided. Interested families have until November 16 to complete the process.
