The drill brought together more than 500 personnel at the Cuatro Vientos airbase and recreated shootings, explosions, and fires during an hour of maneuvers.

The Cuatro Vientos airbase hosted the large SAMUR-Civil Protection drill, which involved over 500 personnel from local, national, and international organizations. According to elresurgirdemadrid.com, the exercise served to conclude the XXVII Municipal Catastrophe Conference.

The operation involved Firefighters, Municipal Police, and Mobility Agents, along with SAMUR Social and SELUR. The Armed Forces also participated, including the Military Emergency Unit, the National Police, the Civil Guard, and health services from sixteen autonomous communities, as well as delegations from Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, and Lithuania.

During one hour, five actions were recreated in three locations with shootings, explosions, chases, and fires, supported by specialists in special effects and military and police helicopters. The scenario involved the escape of several criminals after a homicide and a robbery, which activated the Municipal Procedure for Complex Incidents.

At the same time, six major Madrid hospitals, including La Paz, Gregorio Marañón, and Gómez Ulla, received and classified fictitious casualties. This is the most demanding drill of the more than thirty organized each year to train resuscitation techniques and protocols for collective disasters.

Nearly 3,500 spectators followed the maneuvers on two giant screens fed by the body cameras of the rescue teams. Meanwhile, the Comprehensive Training Centre for Security and Emergencies hosted scientific panels with speakers and experts from across Europe.
