The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has announced a package of 100 measures during the State of the Region Debate. The proposals cover health, education, housing, transport, security, the environment, social services, culture, and digitalisation, according to elcorreodepozuelo.com.

The list includes new investments, strategic plans, economic aid, and expansions of public services. One of the most relevant allocations is the new Regional Investment Plan (PIR) endowed with 1.1 billion euros for the next five years, which represents a 10% increase over the previous one.

For the municipalities affected by the fire in the Sierra Oeste, a line of 12 million euros from the PIR is created for reconstruction. Additionally, an economic and tourism reactivation plan for the area will be launched with 10 million euros, which includes aid of up to 70,000 euros for self-employed individuals and businesses.

In terms of security, 1,100 surveillance cameras will be installed in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. A new Plan for the Recovery of Historical and Artistic Heritage will also be approved within the Pueblos con Vida programme.

Justice will receive a boost with the completion of the structures of the buildings of the High Court of Justice of Madrid and the Provincial Court in the City of Justice. New Justice Palaces will be built in Majadahonda and Pozuelo de Alarcón, and a Family Support Office will be opened at the judicial offices.

On the international front, the exhibition “Victims of ETA” will be organised in Washington. For families, aid of 14,500 euros will be extended to mothers up to 35 years old who have their third child and become large families.

These are just some of the 100 measures announced, which will be developed in the coming months. The president has highlighted that the goal is to continue improving public services and supporting municipalities, especially the smallest ones and those affected by the disaster in Sierra Oeste.
