Councillor Ana Dávila claims that violent groups are blocking the entry of Social Services into the Sol camp and calls for its eviction.

According to epe.es, the Councillor for Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid, Ana Dávila, reported this Saturday that violent groups at the Sol camp are preventing the entry of Social Services. Dávila responded to the Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, who stated that the camp must first be dismantled to assist any vulnerable individuals present.

Martín had warned of the presence of homeless individuals at the camp, which he described as an additional drama to the homelessness issue in the capital. He also urged the Madrid City Council to provide "precise responses".

In statements to the media, Dávila asserted that she is unaware if there are individuals needing social assistance within the camp. According to the councillor, the violent groups are preventing Social Services from entering.

In order to assist the homeless, the Government of Spain, under the authority of the Government delegate, must evict the camp so that we can help any vulnerable individuals who may exist inside, of whom we are unaware.

The councillor linked these actions to the general elections on November 29, which, according to her, these groups are attempting to prevent from being held democratically. Dávila also spoke of the "harm being caused" by the camp in "a square that belongs to everyone", and called for its removal "for safety" and to ensure the normality of local businesses.

They are also continuing this week with the threat to set fire to the Puerta del Sol.

Dávila made these statements after participating in the presentation of the Solidarity Ribbon for ALS, an initiative by the Spanish Association of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (adELA). The camp remains set up at the Puerta del Sol.
