The Madrid Assembly has approved a new Tourism Regulation Law of the Community of Madrid, according to MasVive. The law replaces the regulation in force since 1999 and adapts it to changes in the sector.
Among the new features, the law expressly recognises hostels and areas for the reception and overnight stay of campervans, camper vehicles and similar.
The law also expands the rights and duties of customers and the guarantees that professionals in the sector must meet. It includes provisions on insurance and other coverages, recognises freedom of pricing, and updates the conditions for access and stay in accommodations.
In terms of sanctions, the text revises the sanctions regime to adapt it to the Consumer and User Defence Law. Additionally, it introduces changes in inspection and tourism discipline, aiming to provide greater legal certainty and facilitate the application of the rules.
Travellers and tourist establishments in the region are thus subject to these new rules.
