Between Friday, October 23, and Sunday, October 25, demonstrations, races, and the Trashumancia Festival will necessitate street closures in Madrid. Access from Pozuelo, Majadahonda, and Boadilla will be the most affected.
According to information published by pozueloin.es, the Madrid City Council has announced traffic restrictions over the next three days due to demonstrations, sporting events, and public celebrations. The incidents will affect the city centre and several entry points used by residents from the northwest of Madrid.
On Friday 23, the first restrictions will begin in the afternoon. Between 16:00 and 19:30, there will be closures on Ferraz, Plaza de España, Bailén, and Vallehermoso. In the evening, between 21:15 and 24:00, a mobilization may affect Princesa, Gran Vía, Cibeles, Recoletos, and Castellana.
On the same Friday, the City Council has scheduled road maintenance work on Ronda Buganvilla del Rey, Argentona, and Francos Rodríguez, between Dehesa de la Villa and Ofelia Nieto, from 9:30 to 13:30 and 16:30 to 19:00.
On Saturday 24, several demonstrations are expected. Between 11:30 and 15:00, there may be closures on Atocha, Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Alcalá, and Sevilla. From 15:30 to 21:00, incidents will concentrate in Plaza de España, Gran Vía, Alcalá, and Cibeles, with the final call between 21:15 and 24:00 potentially affecting Recoletos, Castellana, Génova, and Alonso Martínez, among other streets.
On Sunday 25, the day will have the most disruptions for residents of Pozuelo. The Solidarity Race for Wolfram Syndrome 2026, organized in Aravaca, will require traffic closures between 8:30 and 12:30 on Bardegueral, Rosa de Luxemburgo, Húmera road, Arroyo de Pozuelo, Cuesta del Galbán, Ronda del Tren, Ronda de las Flores, and Seis de Diciembre. The City Council also warns of possible changes to the route of the EMT line 160.
On the same Sunday, the XXXIII Trashumancia Festival will bring around 1,400 sheep and goats through Madrid. Restrictions will be in place from 10:00 to 13:00 between Casa de Campo and the historic centre, via Puente del Rey, Bailén, Mayor, Plaza Mayor, Toledo, and Carrera de San Francisco. This year, the livestock will not pass through Puerta del Sol or reach Cibeles, as the camping in Sol requires a change in the route. The municipal reception will be held in Plaza de la Villa, with an estimated arrival between 11:15 and 11:25.
On Sunday morning, the Marca 2026 Derby of the Fans will add closures between 8:30 and 10:45 on Alberto Alcocer, Príncipe de Vergara, Serrano, Paseo de la Castellana, Recoletos, Prado, and Ronda de Atocha. The organization estimates participation of up to 10,000 runners.
Drivers coming from Pozuelo, Majadahonda, Boadilla, or Las Rozas via Moncloa, Príncipe Pío, or the accesses from the A-6 should be aware of these timings, especially if their destination is in the centre.
