The DGT activates its special operation this Friday for the All Saints' bridge. In the Community of Madrid, 1,127,000 long-distance trips are expected, and the A-1 works will complicate Monday's return.

According to motorpoint.com, the DGT will launch a special traffic operation this Friday, October 30, starting at 15:00 hours, due to the All Saints' bridge. Agents from the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard and technical means for monitoring and regulating traffic will participate.

Traffic estimates 5,340,000 long-distance trips across Spain, to which numerous short trips will be added, especially visits to cemeteries. In Madrid, the operation will be active until 24:00 hours on Monday, November 2, as that day is a public holiday in the region.

Friday afternoon will be the most complicated day for leaving the capital. The highest traffic intensity is expected between 16:00 and 22:00 hours, so the DGT recommends avoiding this time slot whenever possible. On Saturday, heavy traffic will continue from early morning at the exits of major cities.

Monday will be the most delicate day for those returning to Madrid. On the A-1, works to repair three viaducts between kilometres 51 and 59, near Venturada and Cabanillas de la Sierra, will require one lane to be closed in the direction of Madrid.

To reduce congestion, the DGT plans to open an additional lane into Madrid from kilometre 74 of the A-1, provided that weather and safety conditions allow it. The section will be signposted.

Among the planned measures, Traffic includes additional and reversible lanes in the sections of highest intensity, alternative routes, the suspension of works affecting traffic, and restrictions on goods trucks in certain sections, dates, and times. Monitoring will be carried out with fixed and mobile radars, helicopters, drones, and control cameras.
