According to epe.es, Renfe offers three same-day round trips this Saturday from Madrid: to Guadalajara, to Villanueva de Córdoba, and to Alcalá de Henares. All three trains depart from the capital and return in the evening.

The Tren de la Alcarria departs from Atocha Cercanías at 09:42, stops at Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor at 09:58, and arrives in Guadalajara at 10:35. The programme includes guided tours of the Palacio del Infantado, the Convento de la Piedad, the Palacio de la Cotilla, the Capilla de Luis de Lucena, and the ducal crypt of the Mendoza family in the church of San Francisco. The return departs from Guadalajara at 20:15 and arrives at Atocha Cercanías at 21:08.

The ticket costs 50 euros and children under 14 pay 20 euros. Children under four who do not occupy a seat travel for free.

The Tren del Jamón runs on the same day between Madrid and Villanueva de Córdoba, in the Los Pedroches region. Departure is at 09:00 from Madrid Puerta de Atocha-Almudena Grandes, arriving at 10:34, with the return leaving Villanueva at 20:01 and arriving in Madrid at 21:46. The price is 100 euros for adults and 60 euros for children under 14.

The package includes bus transfers, a visit to a dehesa and a ham drying facility, and tastings of acorn-fed Iberian ham and cold cuts. There is also a tour of the Church of San Miguel, the Civil War Air Raid Shelter, and the Church of the Workers.

The Tren de Cervantes takes travellers to Alcalá de Henares on a special Cercanías train with no intermediate stops between Atocha and Alcalá. During the journey, actors dressed as characters from 'Don Quixote' entertain passengers. Afterwards, the theatrical visit explores the church where Cervantes was baptised, the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim quarters of the medieval city, and the Renaissance university city. The season for this train runs every Saturday until 5 December.
