Paseo del Prado and Paseo de Recoletos host the central event of Hispanic Day from 11:00 AM, with 4,400 participants, 50 aircraft, and 144 vehicles.

On October 12, Madrid once again serves as the stage for the central event of Hispanic Day. Starting at 11:00 AM, the Kings will preside over a parade that will bring together around 4,400 members of the Armed Forces, State Security Forces and Bodies, and other civil institutions, of which about 530 are women. The route will take place along Paseo del Prado and Paseo de Recoletos, as detailed in the program released by Defence and reported by El Imparcial.

The day will begin before the parade with a videoconference from the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, with the Spanish contingents deployed abroad. Currently, an average of 3,000 Spanish soldiers are participating in international missions across four continents under the flags of NATO, the UN, or the EU.

One of the central moments will be the parachute jump by the Aerial and Space Parachute Acrobatic Patrol (PAPEA) with the Flag of Spain. Sergeant 1st Pablo García Matanza will act as the lead jumper, and Corporal 1st José Antonio Lago will carry the flag, measuring 24 square meters and weighing 15 kilograms, during the descent.

For the second time in this commemoration, the Mirlo Formation, successor to the Eagle Patrol, will fly over the skies of Madrid at the end of the tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain.

The aerial display will feature 50 aircraft for combat, training, and transport, as well as around thirty helicopters. On the ground, the motorized column will consist of about 144 vehicles and 39 motorcycles, complemented by around 300 horses and five dogs from various units.

The commemoration will include references to historical milestones, such as the recent launching and christening of the A-21 Poseidon, the future main vessel for underwater intervention, salvage, and submarine rescue for the Navy, and the centenary of the Elcano Squadron, which connected Madrid and Manila by air.

The program for the central event begins at 11:00 AM with the arrival of the Kings, followed by military honors, the PAPEA jump, the raising of the National Flag, a tribute to the fallen, the Mirlo Formation flypast, and the aerial and ground parades. The day will conclude with the farewell of the Kings and the lowering of the National Flag.
