The Community of Madrid recognised this Friday a hundred public employees who have completed 30 years of service in the regional Administration. The Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, presented the Silver Insignias at a ceremony held at the Joaquín Leguina Regional Library of Madrid, according to information released by the Community of Madrid and reported by vivirediciones.es.

Albert thanked the honorees for “their dedication throughout their careers in the regional Administration.” The ceremony brought together around a hundred people, including honorees, family members, and institutional representatives.

Technology must serve people, not the other way around, because Artificial Intelligence complements but does not replace the responsibility or capability of public employees

The minister highlighted that the experience of these veterans is “decisive” in the face of the challenge of digitalisation, especially “when it comes to identifying tasks that can be automated.” She also recalled that these workers “joined an Administration that was newly created at the time, which, in just five years, took on responsibilities for universities, ceded taxes, social services, and active employment policies, among others.”

In her speech, Albert asserted “their merit and capability as the basis of trust in institutions.” The distinction is awarded to those who reach 30 years of service in the Community of Madrid.
