The Community of Madrid plans to reopen in December the section of Metro Line 10 between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco, closed since March 28, 2026. The forecast was maintained on October 26, according to madridactual.es.
The rest of the route is already operating normally. Service between Plaza de Castilla and Cuzco resumed on August 25, 2026, after waterproofing works and asbestos removal valued at 1.7 million euros. Previously, between July 4 and August 28, another interruption affected the section between Plaza de Castilla and Nuevos Ministerios, according to the Madrid City Council.
The Nuevos Ministerios station, which will be renamed Bernabéu without the name Santiago, will reopen at the end of March 2027. The works are over 70% complete and the completion is expected in the first quarter of 2027, according to Telemadrid and El Español.
The project has a budget of 66 million euros and will renovate around 12,000 square meters of space, with new interiors and vertical mobility equipment. Metro de Madrid plans to install 12 panoramic elevators and 24 escalators, making the station 100% accessible. In 2025, the station recorded four million entries.
While the closure lasts, the special bus service S10 covers the route between Nuevos Ministerios and Plaza de Castilla free of charge for Metro users. This service will continue even after the reopening of the Plaza de Castilla-Cuzco section.
