The Transport Department expects to restore service on the stretch between Cuzco and Nuevos Ministerios by late December 2026. Santiago Bernabéu station will remain closed until the first quarter of 2027.

The Line 10 of the Madrid Metro will resume train service between Cuzco and Nuevos Ministerios by late December 2026, according to the Transport Department. As reported by madridinforma.es, the reopening will be partial, as the Santiago Bernabéu station will not return to service until its construction works are completed.

This stretch has been closed since March 28, 2026 due to the renovation of the stadium station. Trains will pass through Santiago Bernabéu without stopping until the first quarter of 2027. No exact date exists yet, so the schedule may change as the final phase of the works progresses.

Meanwhile, the special S10 service of the EMT, which is free, continues to operate, connecting Plaza de Castilla, Cuzco, Santiago Bernabéu, and Nuevos Ministerios. According to the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid, it runs every two to three minutes on weekdays, from 6:00 to 21:00 hours. Lines 27 and 147 of the EMT can also be used along the Castellana axis.

The construction of the new station has reached 77% completion and has an investment of 66 million euros. The area will increase from 4,843 to over 12,400 square meters, featuring 12 elevators and 24 escalators. For residents of Chamartín and the Azca area, the renovated station will provide direct access from the stadium and the financial district.

Those needing to get on or off at Santiago Bernabéu will have to use the S10 bus or change at Nuevos Ministerios until the station opens.
