Coslada adds 90 unemployed in September, nearing 3,300 jobless

Unemployment in Coslada rose by 2.83% in September compared to August, with 3,272 registered individuals. Over the last year, unemployment has increased by 40 people, 1.24% more.

The municipality of Coslada closed September with 3,272 unemployed individuals, 90 more than in August, representing an increase of 2.83% in the last month, according to data released by the Community of Madrid and reported by diariodecoslada.es.

In the year-on-year comparison, unemployment has risen by 40 people in the last twelve months, an 1.24% increase compared to September of the previous year.

By gender, women account for the majority of unemployment in the locality: 1,941 women are registered as job seekers, compared to 1,331 men. The group of people over 45 years old is the largest among the unemployed.

The services sector continues to hold the majority of unemployment in Coslada, with 2,698 unemployed individuals. This is followed by construction, with 291; industry, with 180; agriculture, with 10; and 93 individuals with no previous employment.

The Community of Madrid has led job creation in Spain over the past year, with 148,072 new workers, a +3.9%

In the region as a whole, the Community of Madrid added 148,072 new workers in the last year, a 3.9% increase, five tenths above the national average. Social Security affiliation grew in September by 55,861 contributors, the largest increase among all autonomous communities, reaching 3,927,854 affiliates, the highest figure recorded for this month in history.

Self-employed workers also increased: 11,929 more self-employed individuals in a year, a 2.7% rise, bringing the total to 447,412, the best figure recorded. Only in September, the self-employed regime gained 3,642 individuals compared to the previous month, a 0.8% increase, double that of the national average.
